OLIN HALL
Olin Residence Hall, located adjacent to the Washington University
School of Medicine, provides complete residential services. The
Residence Hall was made possible by generous gifts from Mr. Spencer
T. Olin, alumni, and friends of the School of Medicine.
Olin Hall provides housing for approximately 200 men and women,
which includes medical and graduate students in the School of Medicine,
and those enrolled in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Program in Audiology and Communication Science, Genetic Epidemiology, and the Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences.
Olin Hall is planned for the convenience of medical and paramedical
science students, and every effort is made to provide an atmosphere
which not only aids in meeting study obligations, but also in recognizing
privileges as graduate students.
FACILITIES
Danforth Chapel - non-denominational
Reber Library - for study and leisure reading
Student Lounge/Multi-purpose Room - available to all students for
leisure and/or studying. The lounge is equipped with comfortable
furniture, large screen television with a state of the art satellite
system and a computer for everyday tasks. The multi-purpose room
is available for music practice and small student or class gatherings.
Penthouse - The 11th floor Penthouse, which offer striking views
of the city, and serves as a recreational area for students. Complete
with ping pong, shuffleboard, and pool tables, along with a large
screen television with satellite system, the Penthouse is a place
to kick back and relax.
Located on the ground floor is a large gymnasium, weight room and
a laundry room with coin-operated washers and dryers. A student
lounge with a fully equipped kitchen and large screen television
is also located on the ground floor. The second floor has a state of the art workout facility reserved for medical school students.
Dining facilities are located throughout the medical school campus.
No meal plans are provided for students at Olin Hall.
ACCOMODATIONS
Room types at Olin Hall are singles, doubles, large singles, solo
suites (1 student), and double suites (2 students).
Each room is provided with an X-long twin bed, chest, built-in
desk, desk chair, and study lamp. All rooms are air-conditioned
and have mini blinds for privacy. A pillow, blanket, towels, and alarm clock will be provided for interviewing students.
Single, double, and large single rooms consist of a wash basin
and medicine cabinet with common bathroom facilities on each floor.
Suites consist of a bedroom, study room and private bath.
Every other student floor within the dorm contains a fully equipped
kitchen and ice machines so that students may plan for meals at
home. Hot plates
are not allowed.
Network service is provided free of charge. Phone and cable are
available at the student's expense.
PARKING
Parking for a limited number of cars, at a monthly or yearly fee,
is available on ground lots and parking garages behind and east
of the residence hall, within walking distance of the medical school
campus.
